Why it matters

Supporting mental health and wellbeing of children and young adults is a pressing priority in the world, especially as young people today face significant challenges to their mental health. The pressure to succeed academically, navigate social media, manage personal and familial issues, as well as to adapt to the world of A.I. technologies, often leads to emotional distress.

Research indicates that one in six children in the UK aged 5-16 experience a mental health disorder, with many going untreated due to barriers such as stigma, lack of access to services, and underfunding in the sector. The impacts of poor mental health in childhood can be long-lasting, affecting educational outcomes, relationships, and overall quality of life.

We believe that philanthropy has a crucial role to play in breaking these barriers. By investing in mental health of children and young adults, we can help foster a generation that is emotionally resilient, empowered, and better equipped to thrive in their personal and professional lives.

Our Approach

Support innovative research

Press Pause Project

We believe that teachers play a vital role in supporting students' mental health, as they are often the first to notice signs of distress and can intervene early. To empower teachers to better support their students, we’ve launched Press Pause—
a charitable initiative focused on enhancing the wellbeing of educators across London. Through yoga sessions, health coaching, and talks with thought leaders, Press Pause equips teachers with the tools to manage stress, improve their own mental health, and cultivate a positive, supportive environment for their students.

Mental Health & Mindfulness Research

Supporting children’s mental health and wellbeing is critically important to unlocking their full potential. To ensure we have evidence-based approaches to raise happy and healthy children, we fund research on their mental health, mindfulness and wellbeing.
